What is the curriculum offered by KLISS?

We follow the National Curriculum for England, leading up the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Year 11.

How do you determine the age group of my child?

Generally, children are admitted according to their age to the appropriate class. However, if an applicant seeks admission outside the child’s age group, the Principal will require the parents to explain, with supporting evidence, the reason for their request. Where it can be proven beneficial to the educational development of a child, KLISS will usually strive to offer support.

How many children are in each class at KLISS?

All our classrooms are spacious and can accommodate up to a maximum of 25 students.

What languages are taught at KLISS?

English is the language of instruction at KLISS. Other modern foreign languages such as Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Korean and/or Japanese are also offered.

What co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are offered by KLISS?

A variety of sporting activities and clubs are offered. CCA is compulsory for all students from Year 7 to Year 10. For a full range of activities, kindly refer to the ECA section of our website.

Do students have to wear a school uniform?

For safety and comfort reasons, all students including staff at KLISS are expected to wear the school uniform, with pride.

What are the documents required for admission to KLISS?

The documents required are:

  • Copies of student and parents’ passport
  • Copy of Student’s birth certificate
  • Copies of previous school record and leaving certificate
  • 1 copy of Malaysian passport size photograph of the child
  • Application Fee of RM2,800 (non-refundable)
  • A photocopy of valid Malaysian Work Permit/Residence Permit or MM2H, if applicable
  • A letter from the parent’s employer certifying employment in Malaysia (for non-Malaysian)
How much notice is required if I wish to withdraw my child from KLISS?

Students who intend to leave KLISS must give prior notice in writing of at least one full academic term.

Is KLISS recognised by any educational authority?

KLISS is approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Education and the CAIE,UK.
